Education Committee

The education committee plans (approximately) quarterly educational events, mainly directed at caregivers, although the audience tends to be split between family caregivers and professionals. These events have been held in person in the past, but have been virtual since March of 2020. Participation varies, but events are usually attended by 20-35 people.

• Plan educational events: choose topic, date and time, confirm speaker, create Zoom meeting and registration.
  • Sometimes serve as presenters, or present a portion of the topic.
• Promote educational events: create flyers, and promote amongst NAZADA and the community.
• Serve as moderators during educational workshops.
• Follow-up: provide recordings to the website/social media committee, review registration responses (future topics, who’s attending, where did they hear), provide slides/resources to participants as applicable.
• Possible new directions:
  • Professional development.

We would like to recruit at least 2-3 additional people who are willing to help with all responsibilities, but especially promote the workshops and help recruit speakers. It is NOT necessary for Ed Committee members to present or be exceptionally knowledgeable about Alzheimer’s or caregiving, but they may be asked to introduce a speaker, monitor chat for questions, etc.
